Statement of Faith

Enlight Christian School’s Statement of Faith

We believe the Bible is the inspired and authoritative Word of God. We believe in one God, eternally existent in three Persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. We believe that Jesus Christ, fully God and fully man, was born of a virgin, lived a sinless life, died for our sins, rose bodily from the grave, ascended into heaven, and will return in glory. We believe salvation is by grace through faith in Jesus Christ alone, resulting in a transformed life. We believe in the work of the Holy Spirit to convict, regenerate, and empower believers. We believe in the resurrection of the saved to eternal life with God and of the lost to eternal separation from Him, and in the call for all believers to live holy lives and proclaim the Gospel to the world.

1. The Bible

We believe the Bible is the inspired, infallible, and authoritative Word of God. It is the final rule for faith and life, without error in its original manuscripts.
(2 Timothy 3:16–17; 2 Peter 1:20–21)

2. God

We believe in one God, eternally existent in three Persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
(Deuteronomy 6:4; Matthew 28:19; 2 Corinthians 13:14)

3. Jesus Christ

We believe in the full deity and full humanity of our Lord Jesus Christ, His virgin birth, His sinless life, His miracles, His substitutionary and atoning death on the cross, His bodily resurrection, His ascension to the right hand of the Father, and His future return in power and glory.
(John 1:1,14; Philippians 2:6–11; 1 Corinthians 15:3–4; Acts 1:9–11)

4. The Holy Spirit

We believe the Holy Spirit convicts the world of sin, righteousness, and judgment, and that He regenerates, indwells, and empowers believers for holy living and service.
(John 16:8–11; Acts 1:8; 1 Corinthians 12:4–11; Galatians 5:22–23)

5. Humanity and Sin

We believe all people are created in the image of God but have sinned and are therefore separated from God, deserving His judgment. Only through repentance and faith in Jesus Christ can we be forgiven and reconciled to God.
(Genesis 1:26–27; Romans 3:23; Romans 6:23)

6. Salvation

We believe salvation is a gift of God’s grace received by faith alone in the finished work of Jesus Christ. It is not earned by works but results in a transformed life.
(Ephesians 2:8–9; Titus 3:5–7; 2 Corinthians 5:17)

7. The Church

We believe the universal Church is the Body of Christ, composed of all true believers. The local church exists to worship God, build up believers, and proclaim the Gospel to the world.
(Ephesians 1:22–23; Acts 2:42–47; Matthew 28:19–20)

8. Christian Living

We believe Christians are called to live in holiness, love, and obedience to God, being salt and light in the world, and to share the Good News of Jesus Christ with others.
(Matthew 5:13–16; 1 Peter 1:15–16; Colossians 3:12–17)

9. The Return of Christ

We believe in the personal, visible return of Jesus Christ to judge the living and the dead, to reward believers, and to establish His eternal Kingdom.
(1 Thessalonians 4:16–17; Revelation 22:12; Matthew 25:31–46)

10. Eternity

We believe in the bodily resurrection of all people—those who are saved to eternal life with God, and those who are lost to eternal separation from Him.
(John 5:28–29; Matthew 25:46; Revelation 20:11–15)
