- Attendance Policy
Regular attendance is important to academic success. Students are expected to attend school every day unless they are ill or have a valid excuse such as a family emergency or religious observance. Parents must report absences to the school by 9:00 AM. After multiple unexcused absences, parents will be contacted. Tardiness disrupts learning and should be avoided. Excessive absences or lateness may lead to academic or disciplinary consequences.
At Enlight Christian School, we believe punctuality is an essential life skill and a vital part of student success. Repeated tardiness disrupts learning and sets a poor example for peers. To encourage timely attendance, the following consequences will be applied:
Tardiness Definition:
A student is considered late if they arrive after the designated start of the school day without a valid reason (e.g., medical appointment, emergency, or pre-approved situation).
Progressive Consequences:
Number of Late Arrivals (Per Term) | Consequences |
1–2 times | Verbal reminder and teacher logs tardy in attendance records |
3–4 times | Parent/guardian notified via What’s App group or phone call |
5–8 times | Parent/Student conference with teacher and written reflection on punctuality |
8-10 times | Parent meeting with school leadership; after-school detention assigned |
10+ times | Written warning issued; behavior plan implemented; potential loss of privileges |
Chronic Tardiness:
If a student reaches 10 or more instances of tardiness in a term, the issue will be considered chronic. The case will be referred to the school counselor and administration. Additional disciplinary action may include:
- Temporary suspension of extracurricular participation
- Requirement to make up missed class time
- Review of enrollment status in serious or repeated cases
- Student Assessment, Grading and Progress Monitoring
Assessment is an essential tool for measuring growth and guiding instruction. Students participate in classroom-based formative assessments and school-wide summative evaluations. Teachers regularly review student performance data to monitor progress and make informed instructional decisions. Progress is communicated through report cards, parent conferences, and online portals (EnlightSiS). Intervention plans are implemented for students needing additional support. Families are encouraged to stay engaged and review assessment outcomes regularly.
Our grading system reflects a combination of formative and summative assessments to provide a holistic view of each student’s academic progress. Teachers use a variety of tools, including classwork, homework, quizzes, projects, presentations, and exams, to evaluate student performance. Student effort, participation, and growth are also considered essential components of academic achievement.
Grades are reported quarterly, with progress reports issued mid-quarter to keep parents informed. Our grading scale follows standard percentages, with letter grades ranging from A (90–100%) to F (below 60%). In early elementary grades, a standards-based assessment model may be used to reflect development and mastery of grade-level skills.
Students are expected to complete all assignments on time and to the best of their ability. Teachers provide feedback and support to help students improve, and opportunities for revision or retesting may be offered at the teacher’s discretion. Late or missing work may receive a reduced grade unless a valid reason is communicated in advance.
Academic honesty is expected at all times. Plagiarism, cheating, or other forms of academic dishonesty will result in disciplinary action aligned with our school’s Code of Conduct.
At Enlight Christian School, we are committed to helping students grow academically, spiritually, and socially. Our academic policies and grading practices are meant to guide students in becoming responsible, independent learners prepared for the future God has planned for them.

- Curriculum and Programs
At Enlight Christian School we offer Scholar Springs Publications curriculum. This curriculum is rooted in Bloom’s Taxonomy, which provides a structured and progressive framework for developing critical thinking and deep understanding across all subject areas. We believe that true learning goes beyond memorization, it involves guiding students through increasingly complex levels of thinking, from basic knowledge acquisition to advanced analysis and creative problem-solving.
Our teaching begins at the foundational level of Remembering, where students recall facts, definitions, and basic concepts. From there, we move to Understanding, ensuring that students can explain ideas in their own words and grasp the meaning behind what they learn. At the Applying stage, learners use their knowledge in real-world scenarios and classroom tasks, reinforcing practical learning.
We emphasize Analyzing by encouraging students to break down information, identify relationships, and draw connections between ideas. This is followed by Evaluating, where learners are challenged to make judgments, defend opinions, and assess outcomes using evidence and reasoning. At the highest level, Creating, students synthesize their knowledge to design new ideas, construct solutions, and express themselves in original and meaningful ways.
We also offer and enrichment programs and remedial programs for students personal academic growth. Support services, intervention programs, and gifted education are available to ensure success for every student.
