Thematic Immersion Methodology
At Enlightium School we use a thematic approach in our curriculum that helps all student grow in proficiency and confidence when learning the English Language.
Thematic: sing interesting themes within the curriculum keeps the learner engaged which help them to retain more.
Immersion: When the students are immersed in a theme for a period of time, they will have more understanding.

Playgroup
Activity area to explore with markers, crayons, paper, etc., Handwriting without Tears activities for shapes and self-portraits, exposure to tracing the child’s own name and/or beginning to write a letter or two of his/her own name, exploring alphabet puzzles, magnetic letters, play dough letters, making letters in a wide variety of art medium(sand, paint, etc.)
Using technology, the classroom setting and a great assessment program, we are able to teaching the children
in kindergarten English with great retaining results. English Connect has incorporated, songs, dances, stories, games, lessons, grammar, reading, and assessment into each lesson.
Playgroup uses an easy, stress-free approach to math. This method builds a foundation of math concepts without pressure for mastery. Manipulatives are used to develop number sense and to introduce time, money skills, and fractions.

Character stories and discussions are designed to help children understand who God is and the importance of living His way.

The larger goals include: being able to match musical pitch, tap the beat of songs, and beginning to compose music of our own. Some events include: Pilgrim Thanksgiving, various Elementary concerts,
Playgroup students continue developing locomotor and non-locomotor skills. Basic sport skills are introduced and practiced as well. As always, there is a lot of movement and activity during each PE class. We also talk about taking care of the bodies God has given us and being a good classmate.
